Description

The Field Mechanic works under close supervision to service, maintain, and ensure the proper functioning of hydraulic fracturing equipment pumps and pneumatic systems; performs basic mechanic duties; and maintains accurate records of maintenance activities.

  • Service, maintain, and ensure proper function of hydraulic fracturing equipment pumps and pneumatic systems

  • Perform basic mechanic duties (i.e. filter changes, diagnostics, repairs, etc.)

  • Install and/or replace new or reconditioned repair parts and create work orders for all discovery work and performed repairs

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities (i.e., order parts using Power Apps, generate QC daily reports, etc.)

  • Perform general housekeeping of parts trailer, service trucks, and work area

  • Immediately communicate failures to Field Maintenance Mechanic Lead or Supervisor

  • Perform all duties assigned by Field Maintenance Mechanic Lead

  • Safely drive a company vehicle day or night, on all road types, and in all weather conditions

  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Follow HSE procedures on location (watch for high pressure lines, observation of red zone boundaries, perform lock out tag out, etc.)

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


  • Minimum 6 months’ months mechanical experience, required
  • A Technical Associates degree or certificate is preferred and may be considered in lieu of experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required
  • Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
  • Must have basic hydraulic fracturing equipment knowledge (i.e., location of battery switches, power up and power down, and understanding of starting procedures)
  • Must understand hydraulic fracturing pump and blender hydration operations
  • Must have basic knowledge of blender components (i.e., able to identify discharge pump and suction pump)
  • Must be familiar with electronic instrumentation and automation equipment
  • Clear communication skills, able to effectively interact with team members, leads, and supervisors
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications, Power Apps, and able to quickly learn other work related software
  • Safety conscious, observant, and willing to use stop work authority when necessary
  • Must be physically able to safely perform duties during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days, nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Must be physically able to safely perform duties in all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold
  • Must be physically able to remain alert and safe during exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate to loudnoises
  • Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
  • Must be physically able to safely lift or move 50 lbs. without assistance
