Job Summary

The Cement Equipment Operator operates and maintains equipment used in the cement job, performs vehicle or equipment inspections, maintains proper daily documentation of equipment, and performs rig up and rig down operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain equipment used in the cement job (i.e., cement bulk equipment, field bins, and semi-trailers)
  • CDL-A holder should comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations (keep accurate driver’s log, submit driver’s log daily, accurately report mileage and fuel, and obey hours of service policies)
  • Perform vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure proper fluid levels, functioning brakes, working lights, and safe tire condition
  • Maintain proper daily documentation of equipment and report any defective equipment to proper personnel
  • Perform rig up and rig down operations
  • Assist with the housekeeping on location before, during, and after the job
  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) in compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and organization policy
  • Maintain compliance with HSE policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


  • Current and valid Class A CDL, preferred
  • Maintaining a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, required
  • Able to drive commercial trucks and other vehicles with a manual transmission
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well with others, and work independently when required
  • Clear communication skills, able to interact with employees in the field and at all levels of the organization
  • Able promptly follow verbal and written directions in English
  • Must be able to work closely with others under time-sensitive deadlines including potential emergency response situations
  • Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
  • Must be physically able to safely operate and maintain assigned equipment during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days or nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be physically able to perform duties safely in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
  • Must be physically able to safely lift 25 lbs. above hand and 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Must be physically able to sit or stand on your feet for an extended time
